Sussex County Lifeguarding Association: T-Shirt Design
In this graphic, I use the stars to represent the patrols and the buoy wrapped around the state to represent our union.
Delaware beaches attract more than 7 million visitors each year. It is the consistent effort of each of these patrols to serve the state and community through diligent guarding—performing rescues, first-aid care and emergency care when necessary as a first responder.
The value of teamwork expanded for me when I joined the Rehoboth Beach Patrol. When you go out to make a rescue and need help, you have to trust that your stand partner will be there for you, as we train to be in body and mind. Being a first responder has taught me that teamwork can mean the difference between life and death. We are always stronger together.
Sussex County Lifeguarding Association: Logo Design
In this SCLA logo, I used a famous symbol for Sussex County, the watch tower. The watch tower has always been a symbol for the sea along with the trident located in the center of the photo but this too serves duel symbolism. I also included the trident at the center to show support for Ukraine in their battle to defend their rights as a nation.
Rehoboth Beach Patrol Fall Guarding: T-Shirt Design 2021
If you ever see a RBP Fall Guarding Shirt around the town of Rehoboth Beach DE, one thing that is similar between all the previous designs is that they always have a skeleton! We call this patrol the skeleton crew—vacation season is over and we have less guards and less beach goers. Additionally, the waves get more intense from hurricane season during the end of summer which makes the ocean to dangerous for swimming. Rain or shine though, the beach patrol is guarding everyday from Memorial day to the end of September.

This year for the Fall Guard T-Shirt I decided to expand on the skeleton theme and add in an activity the beach patrol loves to do on big wave days—body surf.
